Princeton has an annual fireworks display during the university’s reunion weekend, and I’ve never photographed fireworks, so I went this year.
My viewing point on top of a parking garage was pretty good (light pollution notwithstanding), but I had a feeling it was far enough away that I should swap out my wide angle for at least the 40mm. I should have, too – these shots are significantly cropped, so I lost a lot of size & detail. But for a first try, it could be worse. There were some really interesting ones that seemed to wander about, zigzag, or circle back on themselves. A couple looked almost like waterfalls.
